Srinagar, Sep 24 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Congress on Wednesday welcomed the announcement of elections to the vacant Rajya Sabha seats from the J&K. Party’s spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the J&K had remained without representation in the Rajya Sabha for nearly a year despite the Assembly functioning. “There was no reason for keeping Jammu and Kashmir without a representative in the Rajya Sabha for such a long time. But now that the time has come, our leadership will sit together, discuss and take the right decision,” Sharma told reporters. He said the Congress, which is in coalition with the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, would take a final call on candidates only after consultations with leadership—(KNO)
